DESCENT

Racing & Driving 1791

DESCENT is like the Olympic Games for downhill mountain biking, but with fewer judges and more rocks! Picture this: one magnificent mountain, a trail that goes on for what seems like a million kilometers (okay, maybe just a few), and a vertical drop that could make even a squirrel dizzy. You’ll encounter all the thrills—berms that hug you like your grandma, rock gardens that are just nature’s way of saying, “Surprise!” and roots that make you question your life choices. Plus, there’s a jump line that’ll have you flying like a superhero (hopefully without the awkward landings).

And let’s not forget the bike! It’s so realistic it might as well have its own Instagram account. With a progressive fork and shock that reacts like your friend when you tell them to “calm down,” per-wheel grip that’s stickier than your grandma’s cookies, and a load transfer that’s more precise than a cat on a windowsill, you’ll feel like a biking wizard!

So, read the trail like it’s a thrilling novel, carry your speed through the berms like you’re late for brunch, and keep those wheels on dirt—unless you enjoy the taste of mud. Chase the clock in Timed Runs, or just go on a wild adventure in Free Ride, where the only pressure is deciding whether to go left or right. It’s downhill biking at its zaniest, and we promise you’ll finish with a grin (and maybe a few bruises)!

Keyboard: W/S or arrows — pedal and brake, A/D — lean, Space — pump/jump, R — restart, Esc — pause. Gamepad is supported. On the descent, braking before a corner and leaning through it is faster than dragging the brakes. Pump the backsides of rollers to gain speed without pedalling. Crashes cost seconds, not the run — get back on and finish. The default track is the ranked one: only it feeds the leaderboard.
